Unexpected Success After Work Tonight

I may have found a decent site to hunt after work for the foreseeable future. :crossfingers:

Ironically, it's a site that I have hunted many, many times. It's an old school grounds that I hunted repeatedly when I first got my E-Trac. When I initially hunted this site I took a few loops around the north side of the grounds an didn't find anything, so I wrote it off as a dead area.

Obviously I was wrong. :embarrassed:

Tonight after work I decided to try that "dead area" again just for the heck of it and I immediately found a 1910 V Nickel. Hmmm... I guess it isn't dead after all.

In 2 1/2 hours I found 3 Indian Heads, 8 wheat cents, 1 V Nickel and 1 Barber Dime. Of the 8 wheat cents, 7 of them are from the teens.

I guess I know what I'll be doing after work for the rest of this week. :thumbsup01:

Here are tonight's finds. I don't have them cleaned up yet:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

That would be sweet! I need to find a honey hole like that around here. :thinkingabout:
Sweet finds man!
Congrats !

:thumbsup02: Great hunt I love digging Indians and :congrats: on the v and barber still not found either of those :beerbuddy:

Nice finds Tony. Was the increase in finds in that area due to having more experience with the Etrac?

I would say yes. That, and the fact that the ground is really wet right now. We have had a LOT of rain lately. But mostly I think it's just that I understand the E-Trac a lot better now.

Yet, another great hunt. Great finds tony.
I guess its true. No spot is ever thoroughly hunted out. The silver is nice, but I really like the V nickel. That's another one still on my bucket list.

Way to go Tony! Seems like revisiting old sites is paying off for both of us! What is that piece in the middle? It look slike a downhill skier to me. Bets wishes and HH, Dave.

Thanks, Dave! You're right about the object in the middle, it does have a skier on it. It may be a zipper pull from a ski jacket.

sounds like you just got better to me congrats on your finds i hunted a park near me 25 to 30 years ago i also thought their wasnt much left but along came the e trac i think i found over fifty silvers their most are barbers and older mercs its a tesament to the e trac and we can take some credit but the real difference is all the new technolagy again congrats on all of your find dennis

Nice dead area  What a difference it makes when it rains, along with having more experience under your belt with the E Trac. Some nice looking coins. Sites can produce again, and again, under the right conditions.

Nice going Tony. Im sure there are more finds at that school. Give it some more personal time and it will pay off again.

Great finds as always Tony. Man the detail on the reverse of the wheaties is great considering they're from the teens!
