Vexing hunt at the park, except for...

... one shiny disc. ;)

Unfortunately, they still haven't mowed the park, and it's getting very difficult to swing the coil through 8 tall grass. So once again I had to limit my hunting to the few areas where the grass is shorter. Tonight these areas yielded only 2 wheat cents and 3 memorials.

So I tried the strip between the sidewalk and the street again. Yesterday I found one of the Indian Heads in this strip. This time I hunted next to the road instead of next to the sidewalk. The grass is very high in this area, but I did manage to get a really nice 12-47 signal at 6 deep. Here's what was in the hole:

What is it? Washington? SLQ? Slug out of an electrical box? :dontknow:

Nope, it's another Barber Quarter. My second out of this park in the past four days. :happydance01:

Here's a shot of all my finds for the day, rather slim pickins. The wheats are dated 1911 and 1912.

I can't wait to see what I can find in this park after they mow the grass! thumbsup01

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :groovy:

I will admit I read this post wrong the first time, and thought you were disappointed to find a barber quarter! :shocked04:stretcher: :shocked04:

Sorry. What a great find! :clapping:

Tony, did you wait to get home before rinsing it off?

Yes, I almost always do that with the silver coins I find, unless it's just a Rosie. They go straight from the hole to my pocket, I don't do anything to them until I get home.

Very nice find, Tony! :clapping: At this rate you are going to have an adrenaline overdose. lol Sweet keeper. :smitten:

Awesome score Tony! <:

I always keep 'coin' water in the truck. I'd never be able to hold out until home. lol

It certainly is another beauty. Your parks have me drooling.
