X-Terra 305

Hey there all you experienced diggers... |)

I'm curious if anyone has used / is using the X-Terra 305? It appears that for the kind of detecting I'm most interested in (relics and coins) this is may be just a whisker above 'entry level', but could support upgrading to a 10 DD coil later.

I do have a technical background, so I'm not too daunted by the need to work with the unit to understand it's personality. :needadrink: I've also spent quite a lot of time with headphones strapped to my brain-bucket ferreting details in radio production. I'm not sure any of that matters, but...

Would this be biting off more than I can chew as a beginner?

the x-terra 305 is a good choice. As well as the coinmaster GT. But the coinmaster does not have a 10 dd coil, only a smaller elliptical DD coil available. The 305 only has VDI numbers, where as the GT has icons as well. Either way, take the leap into this great obsession.

Don't let the 305 scare you. It's a great Threshold based machine, and quite versatile having 9 authorized coils available in two different frequencies (7.5kHz & 18.75kHz), adjustable Ground Balance, 3 Noise Cancel channels, choice of 1/2/3/or 12 tones, etc........
