I am working in a older home built in the 1930's.tearing up carpet in bedroom i uncover this old kids linoleum.kinda neat in iteself then peeking underneath i see all old newspapers from 1949 lining the floor.
not valueable treasure but neat to see some of the papers and the ads etc.
just thought i'd share. no silver coins but so far scrounged up $1.03 in clad.
I'm going to be putting down a laminate floor and was gonna bury this time capsule under it rather than tearing it up.
Dave

That is real cool. Too bad you can't save the whole thing. I bet people would buy something that old. It's like artwork!! The newspaper is cool too. I save some from 1976 and maybe I'll hide them for someone to find. They are a wealth of knowledge on how things were in the economy.

Yeah, if you got to cut it, make sure you leave enough blank area between the pictures for framing. It would be nice if you could estimate the date of it. You can always try it on E Bay to see if it would sell, framed or unframed. Either way it's too cool to just trash.

Wow. Nice price!

$40 for standard shipping!?!?!? No way! That is ridiculous. And also why I gave up on ebay years ago after several years of being a power seller and offering shipping for cost only. That is how people recoup the now excessive ebay fees -- through excessive shipping charges. I refused to do it but could no longer justify the fees.

Sorry for the sidebar. Dave, if you could save some of that you could probably get money for it, but I'm not sure about framing it.

That is a really neat find Dave!! You have a cool job doing remodels, gives you the opportunity to get permission to hunt new spots! :peace:
Can you cut it out still attached to the sub-floor to keep it from breaking/cracking??
