Today I met up with George (coinnut) to hit a Connecticut park. We arrived at the park early in the morning and remained there until late in the day. The weather was perfect and we had a great time detecting. We both scored with silver, with George picking up a beautiful Barber half.
We had a slow start finding silver but then it began to pick up by the afternoon. By the end of the day I had managed to dig up a total of sixteen silver coins - three Washington quarters, eight Roosevelt dimes, one Canada silver dime, and four mercury dimes.
These bring my total silver count for the year to 244.
The Roosevelt dimes won out this time around.
There were no Standing Liberty quarters but I'll take these any day.
Here are shots of a few silver coins after being dug.
I sure was glad to see that the pendant is made of silver.
A bicentennial medallion.
There are about sixteen wheat cents in the pile.
