The Long Island Duo got out for a few hours today. We went back to an old property we went over pretty well before.I managed a few wheats and this 1816 coin from Austria. I haven't found much info on it yet besides it sells for around 10 bucks on ebay, but it's old.
It was a 12-47 at 8" Thought I had my elusive silver quarter.

Wow, that 1816 coin is really cool, Steve! Is it silver? Amazing to think that it will soon be 200 years old. Incredible find!

:congrats:

its always nice to read about my favorite "Dynamic Long Island Duo" tearing it up down there :envious: Steve i believe that is the first one of them coins i've seen , an oldie for sure , are you noticing the ground getting harder out in them fields??

No Tony it's copper. I think its the German equivalent to a US Large cent. That's actually what I thought it was when it came out of the ground.

We haven't had a freeze until today, Dan. The digging has been easy so far. I cleaned up the coin a bit.

Cool looking coin Steve :thumbsup01: It's better than a large cent...Just like Dan said, I have never seen one found either.
