productive day

Mike and I headed out to a historic society to talk to the Pres. and try to get permission to detect a very old mansion that we've been trying to get permission on since May. We finally got the approval and start on this location a week from today!
:happydance02:
Later in the day we're driving around a cool old town. I see an old house with the front lawn all torn up. The house is an 1820 restoration. We stop and knock on the door and ask if we can detect. He says sure, go ahead. Mike takes the side closest to the house I take the far side. Mikes side won! He got 2 KGs and maybe a 1/2 cent in 10 minutes! Awesome!! I got a chauffeurs tag from 1920 which I think is cool. Maybe we'll be back at this site tomorrow.

Wow! That door-knocking paid off nicely. I would be back there tomorrow morning cooking breakfast for the home owner. ;)

That's a nice one. You don't see them very often dug. I have one from VT. Good luck on the new place.

I think you did pretty well Steve , I'd take that find over a crusty old copper

clean that up so we can get a better look;)

I can't clean it up I gave it to the homeowner. Maybe I'll get it back today and give it a cleaning.. And yes, I agree, so much better than the 2 CT. Coppers and the 1723 Hibernia 1/2 cent Mike found in 10 minutes..... But, as always, I had a blast. It was an awesome day of finds.

very nice of you to give it to the owner.not sure I could have been that nice

Its not for everyone....And believe me it hurt giving it up. But, let me ask you this. Would you give up the chauffeurs license if it meant getting to detect 10 of quite possibly the oldest homes in your county? Early 1700s homes? And if they were detected at all, it was the early 70s.
