LC Spill in Woods

Went detecting for a little bit by a newly discovered site of mine, and didn't pull anything until about an hour into the hunt. I was hunting by the outskirts of the site and I hit a solid and repeatable 95 at 7", I knew what I had as soon as I got the signal. I dug down 8" and sure enough I pulled a 1841 Braided Hair LC, in good shape too.

About a foot away I hit a 85, 86 nice and solid like the first signal, dug down around 10" and pulled a 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent.

Those are two wonderful coins, Sam! If I ever found a Draped Bust Large Cent I would keel over from excitement! Just think, 212 years old! That was a terrific coin spill!

:congrats:

Great finds. I have never gotten a reading in the 90's on my ATP. Low 80's are dimes and mid-80's are quarters. I think I would have a heart attack if I found a 200 year old coin. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the nice finds. A little work and perhaps you can get more of the verdigris of the braided hair LC.
