Less than a mile from my house is a house that's been abandoned for a few years and is deteriorating quickly and was built in 1920 so I stopped in to swing a coil over the overgrown tiny back yard that is only a 50 x 50 foot square. The 1st target is a wheat penny. The second target is a wheat penny. The third target is a wheat penny. So I'm hopeful at this point. I ended up digging 20 coins:17 wheats, a 1926 or 8 buffalo nickel, a 1944 merc and only 1 modern coin, a memorial cent. Also found a sterling silver pin with a big "E' on it. On the back it says "Army Navy Production Award". This turned out to be an award that the government gave to companies and their employees that over-achieved in producing weapons or goods for the war effort in World War 2. The award was discontinued in December of 1945. Also found a makeup case about the size of a half dollar still loaded with makeup and a pretty beat up token from the Bristol National Bank and Trust. I'll take another trip there later in the week. HH all !
