Fifteen Cents in Silver from the GC

Met up with Mike and Steve this morning at the golf course. Drew tried to make it but he wasn't feeling well. I am sure he will be attending a hunt with us shortly.

Got a first for me today....Capped Bust 1/2 dime....1830. It has full liberty but also a nick at about 6:30. Tickled pink with that find. Mike and I were discussing about next time there we will concentrate on about a 100 yard circumference circle. Within that circle the 1/2 reale, Draped Bust LC and the Capped Bust 1/2 dime have come from.

My other silver for the day was a 1936 merc. That makes 26 silvers for me out of this site.

Wheat's are: 09(no VDB), 42s, 47, 48, 50, 57d. I also got a cut wheat also 2 Canadian cents.

A couple of golf related items including a ball marker from Trump National.

Got some relics and I need to know if the buckle looking item is a buckle. Has holes on either side for a pin of some sort. Got another gag loop(just learned what they are yesterday) with leather attached. Also a flat button with smashed shank.

Thanks for reading and HH everyone.

Holy Cow! That is some very early US silver, Al! It seems that spectacular finds are coming from this golf course on a daily basis, and now Capped Bust silver! :wow:

Huge congrats on your first! That's awesome! :clapping:

:perfect10:

Huge congrats Al. Man those old golf courses are great aren't they? I've had the opportunity to hunt a very old course with colonial history in VT as well and pulled a few really nice relics and coins also. They are great sites aren't they! You know, old courses are also great places to potentially find a gold coin (ball marker etc.). Keep posting the goods and congrats again on your first capped bust half dime!

Amazing! That's one coin I'll never likely see, at least in my area. Huge congrats on that capped bust, she's a beauty!

Thanks D.O.D.. It was found early in the hunt and I was smiling all day.

John, thanks for the update on the gold coins. I have thought that it would be a good possibility of a gold coin here. Right now I am using a single frequency, 2.5 and that eliminates gold and nickles. Eventually I will be switching to 3 frequency mode and then start looking for the gold.

Holy Moses Al! :shocked04: Now a Capped bust? And it's a half dime! :yahoo:
I'm waiting for the post with the gold coin in it! :interesting:
Congrats on the ever growing list of goodies coming from the Colonial Course!

I'd like to find a capped bust anything! They still going to develop the other side of the street first?
I was finally able to get out of bed last night...felt good enough to go to work today.
Huge congrats on a cool bucket lister!
