Got out for a bit this am to a new spot. Started hunting and noticed iron on top of some rocks & knew I wasn't the 1st person here. Well as luck would have it they really missed a LOT!
Overall the digging was good but there were a few spots where the frost was about 2" down. Had a few clods that I had to break open to reveal my prize. Got 5 exact same buttons all close together so my guess is at some point there was a jacket or vest that was thrown down and rotted away.
Also nabbed a buckle frame as well as a possible sword scabbard piece and part of a spoon.
The 5 buttons say "Superior Quality Strong" with an Eagle at the top. One of the other buttons is hard to read but looks like it says Kirby & Co, New York there's some other writing but I can't make it out.
Had to buy a Pro-pointer II as my original Pro-pointer finally bit the dust
