Lodge Scent

Trying out a new coil at some old sites. Managed to sniff out a deep Matron Head and an on edge dandy.

Also the remains of a bone-handled fork and a beaver tail.

Woods are staring to fill in.

Lots of young poison ivy.

Very nice Matron! Is the date 1832?

I like the dandy button and the Colonial fork handle too. We just don't stuff like that here in the Midwest. Nice!

Poison Ivy is sprouting up here too. I hate the stuff. I think the photo you posted might be a young hickory tree though.

Congrats on the finds! :clapping:

Good finds. The largie has a nice green patina. I agree with Tony though, not poison ivy. But in all honesty I have had poison ivy really bad before and basically run away from ANY plant with 3 leaves!

That is one GOOD LOOKING beaver tail!! Probably 1960s!! I'd guess Schaefer...did you find more than one?
(showing my age)
That's also a pretty green on that Matron.
Do you always hope for a GW when you're cleaning a dandy? I do.
Deep shotgun shells near an old cellar are a drag.
Nice hunting, my friend!

Na it's probably a Rhinegold, LOL!
