NOX gets me over the hump

I am pretty sure if I had not got the NOX figured out I would not of made it to 100 silver this year. Since November 1st the NOX has found 29 silver coins. It is truly an amazing machine. Got out 3x's this Holiday weekend and managed to get 11 silvers to sneak me over 100 silver for the year. Today I hit an old Park in the town I grew up in. I believe I mentioned this a couple of years back that the park has a swimming hole that back in the day would get dredged from time to time and the old sand was used as fill around the Park. I found some of these fill areas a few years back and was able to find several old black silvers. Today I took the NOX to one of the areas ( I have pounded this spot with the ETRAC) and found 6 coins of which 4 were silver. 3 Rosies and a Merc & 2 of the old swim tags I thought were silver quarters. These coins were definitely over 10"s down in a real sandy mix. The NOX has tremendous depth. On the 3 hunts I got 2 Barber dimes, 3 Mercs, 6 Rosies and 11 wheats. Looking forward to next year as I can revisit all my old spots with the results I have seen this fall. Wisconsin Digger. Also found 3 small silver rings but forgot the pic.

Congrats on 100 silvers! Not easy to do these days! Sounds like you have become one with your Nox.

Yep, 8 years with the Etrac and I did not think there was a better machine but the equinox is amazing on depth and of course the recovery speed. I am not kidding a bit when I say those 2 tags and 4 silver were all at least 10" down. I am having some adjustment on pin pointing as I usually do not pick anything up till I remove a bunch of dirt. The coins above were all in a sand mix that was part of some landfill from an old swimming hole. WD

Wow! 100!
I love my Nox...I love to go to old parks after some rain...you have to dig a shovel deep plug, then you just hear the coin in your pinpointer, still in the hole. sometimes you feel like it's shooting fish in a barrel.
Congrats!!

Wow. amazing reviews. I may have to give this a little thought.
Do you both have the 800?
Yep, and I think Jared Bucknut does as well. Well, actually I have the 600 which is the same machine minus some bells and whistles. Now I'm talking about it... one of the "bells" i wish i had was more options for recovery speed. The 600 only has super-fast, medium, slow. The 800 has many more. That right there would be worth the extra money.

For sometime now I have felt like I’ve been walking over coins because I never hear anything more than 5 inches deep. Maybe I need to give this some thought. Great review.

Congrats on some great hunts this past weekend! I too hit the 100+ silver mark this year with the Nox 600. I have always had a very basic machine and never pulled the trigger for an E-Trac, high-end Whites or Fishers or anything else in the past, so I cannot compare to those, but I am very impressed with the Equinox as well. I also have been going back to sites that are heavily hunted and I have hit in the past. I feel like no matter what, I always have a very high chance of finding silver and/or old coins. I found a Barber and Merc dime (both very worn and one with iron in the same hole) at about 9-10" inches last week at an old ballfield.
