Its been a while since i found one of these april rosette.jpg and it cleaned up nicely , Rang up very high on the Deus II but i could tell it wasn't going to be a copper but i was just as happy with it .

The finds were scarce but I squeaked out a couple of thimbles and a KGII (bent up) and a matron head , the matron put me at my 1000th "career" copper found !!

the old dog tag was an honorable mention find

Very nice rosette Dan! 1,000 dug coppers is more than a milestone. That is a landmark! I don't know anyone remotely close to that. Think about this, anyone starting out detecting today has a ZERO percent chance of finding 1,000 coppers in their lifetime. Even if they find a pot with 900 coppers in it, it still would be very hard to reach 1,000.

1000 coppers dug is a milestone. That’s great fun. Makes me wonder how many I’ve dug I just don’t know. Nice hunt
I'm sure you have a ton of them Todd , get to counting ... Thanks

It took me around a bit more than 25 years to do it ( nearly 30 to 40 coppers a year on average) , i think my longest dry spell was about 8 or 9 months without one (that can sure test you mentally , especially when your detecting buddies are finding them ) . Thanks Jeff

Nice job Dan, the days of finding multiple coppers in a single hunt are a rarity theses days.

Congratulations on reaching your milestone!

Congrats on hitting 1000 career coppers, that is a great milestone. The dog tag is a cool piece of history too. It cleaned up nicely. Good luck on your next hunt!

So this post popped back up and I had a look at what I've got laying around. I've been digging probably 35-45,50 coppers a year for a very long time and we dig that in a week in the UK But I try to keep that separate. For coppers that are just green discs of nothingness I like to stack them 🤣 Yes I would have to say I'm well over the 1000 mark Dan.
