I opened yet another lock and my best one.

I've always brought this old lock out to look at it every now and then, I found it at a paper mill site in January of 2007 and always wanted to open this thing up. I looked at it and thought I'll bet I could make something for for this old lock, I went to a locksmith (who I've known since junior high school) and he said there's no way he could get a blank for it so this morning I brainstormed a way to make a blank out of some copper tube that I also found metal detecting along with a steel rod that came from a laser assembly on a DVD player for a handle on the key. Well I used lampblack to mark the blank that I made and after about 2 hours of filing and grinding I managed to get it open. Toad remembers seeing this lock as probably others do also, I did have a picture of it posted on the Whites forum even though I didn't join the forum till a few months after I found it.

You should try to find the key
That was the old paper mill site that I was hunting when I first joined the Whites forum, since then it's been sold and no detecting anymore, I asked the new owner and it was a negatory :bangahead01: that was a great spot too with old coins.
