Found this in my mom's front yard yesterday and did this number  until I could Google it :) Suomen Tasavalta is the republic of Finland. I like how they spell penni with an I.

It's such a 'cute' little coin lol Me and my vivid imagination was hoping it was from a civilization that no longer exists, very rare & worth thousands rofl

Obverse: SUOMEN TASAVALTA 1966
Reverse: 1 PENNI

Cool find Tana! It never ceases to amaze me how we find things that are clearly out of place.

I found this coin from Iceland in a little neighborhood park in Santa Cruz, California. It's aluminum and just a bit smaller than a dime.

Love those bitty coins from far-far-away John & Tim :) did you look up that one Tim? Is it from Finland too?

When I found it I brought it into the house and handed it to Jen. She looked it up for me. And yes it's from Finland too.
I went back out side and found the 1909 wheatie about a foot away from were I dug the Penni. <:

Oh I didn't realize it was 1909- can you get it cleaned up anymore? Olive oil? Have you ever tried electrolysis? I haven't... had the need to -yet lol

Actually I have a 1909 IH that will not clean up! It's got this hard black sticky gunk that reminds me of soot from a locomotive. It's been soaking in olive oil a few weeks now.

Neat find Tana :clapping: I found this small penny last year. Really made me work to pinpoint it.

Thats about as clean as that ones going to get. I have tried electrolysis. But the rig that I made needs a bigger power supply. On your IH if it's in too bad of shape, here's how I get that stuff off of them. And I know Dave HMN also does this on some of his finds as well. I use a brass brush under running water or in a bucket. The brass is softer than the copper and bronze so it won't scratch it but it's harder than black gunk. thumbsup01 lol Again don't do it on any coin that might be of value of course 8/ But if you know it's shot already, give it a try. You'll be surprised at what it'll take off  I know it's taken more than I would've liked in a few occasions  But when I get to that point it's usually to the &quot:daydream:h well stage anyway lol But I never did that to this wheatie though. :dontknow:
