I found this today at a permission, house was built in mid 1700's, at the very top in tiny letters it says J.PO Boston

I am pretty sure that what you have is the top dial portion of an old punch type embossing machine.

So, I'm hunting an old 1700's site today and find a few items. Two flat buttons, and what I think to be silver plated buckle, and a harmonica with the wood still in it...cool. But when I get them home I realize that the buttons have something written on the back......Is there anything besides...

Found online what looks to be a match for my silver knee buckle.

I tried to attach this to "mystery brass item" but it would not let me. I believe that it is an old butterfly valve.

Not sure about this mark either. Funny how my embalming/ funeral directing homework is always in the background.

Can anyone help me date this ? I have tried for years. And if you can nail that one, I have one more.

It was just a couple of feet away from the silver buckle, and I have no idea what it is. It is not silver.

Found this solid silver knee buckle today along with a tomback ? button at an early 1700's place. There was also an exciting Spanish silver found there ....but I will let the finder tell that story. I just added another photo of it after cleaning.

Found today at 1700's house, inside stamp says "coin", Any idea of age ? Mangoave told me that after 1868 they started stamping the numbers in them.
