Badge/Shield with a Dragon or Eagle?

Hi all,

I been trying to identify this item for a few days without success. It was found on an old farm field in NJ that has given up lots of large cents, reales and King George coins.

It's heavy for its size (5 grams) and it rings up a little lower than a penny would.

Hi Del, nothing really on other side. I gently brushed off the dirt and I don't see any details.

Brass ? or do you think its something else ? And can you post it with some to give a size reference ?

the top section looks like a diamond date mark.
