I was wondering myself when I saw it on your other post.. I'm pretty sure it's post Revolutionary.. only 5 stars lead me to believe it was from Connecticut as it was the fifth state to join the union.. However I went through all of my Albert's button book and couldn't find this particular button..
I wonder if that pin is also known as Cheshire Button Manufacturing of Cheshire CT? They Made buttons, so Maybe C.B. could be short for Cheshire button Mfg corp?

Which it says came from the original Bannerman surplus which would be on the Hudson River not all the far from me
Had a chance to get out Thursday for a few hours and staying about 20 feet or so around the well.
Did find a couple tombac buttons, and this decorative piece, not quite sure what it is, though I think it could be one part of a belt clasp of some sort.. thoughts anyone?
And found another...
Yesterday went back to my new permission, and next to the well I found this 1746 KGII and it is by far my best copper yet, as far as detail goes.
Just 20 feet from this coin I found a 1786-88 NJ copper and it was total waste. It's amazing how 1 coin can come out so bad and another come out so...
Enjoyed the couple hours out in the nice sunshine and started metal detecting a new colonial property. Though I have an agreement that I wouldn't dig in the yard, she said I can do the rest of the property.
The rest of the property is about 100 acres or so and most is very overgrown. But...
So, with this buckle, I really like it, but curious if I should leave it as is, or should I try to remove the green? I like as it is, but wonder if it would look better.. suggestions, opinions?
Went back to the colonial farm again today, and once again she didn't let me down. Found a small tombac, and right at the end of day before I had to leave, a nice high tone. 1785 half reale Spanish Silver!
Beside the GW button, here is everthing I had found Sunday & Monday of the presidents day weekend. Every time I think I've hunted out this farm, I find more..it has been an amazing place that I stumbled upon
2 pewter buttons which are smaller than a dime had a, what I believe is a basket...
Went back to that colonial farm that I've been finding all those buttons, and I am not even going to bore you all those buttons, except for one. I finally did it! A George Washington Inaugural Button!!
It was about 20 yards from the home, in a grassy area, It read as 77, and I just thought...
Loving this mild winter we are having, got back out to the colonial farm, and hit a part of field which wasn't easy hunting. Lots of down trees and briers but managed to find a couple keepers. The coin is totally wiped, it was close to a small brook and beings its mostly clay and always wets it...
The Wife asked me to take some wood to her aunt's house and I figured since I was there I would do some metal detecting in the woods. This place was built in the 1650s but have yet to find anything from the 1600s or 1700s, but I'll take what I can. Yesterday gave me 1901 Barber dime, and a 1857...
Found this 3"x6" metal frame last week where I was finding all the colonial 1700s buttons. . As you can see it was heavily rusted, but after a 3 days in electrolysis I was able 99.9% off. It did have a silver wash or plating still on it in some places, but came off during the process.
Is...
