    Military Button

With the ground not as hard a cement:frozen: and both Steve and I (almost) over our bout with the Flu:sick::sick:, we decided it was time to get out for a hunt. Found this button at a colonial house we had hit previously last fall. Looks like military police insignia, although can't find exact...

    Nice Token Today

Been a while since i've been out swinging but had a hour or so to get out. Went to a spot that has given up some nice coins in the past and gave it a go. Got a 1920's era token for Force cereal featuring "Sunny Jim". The other coin is a 1916 Merc that looks like it was in a fire and yes it's a D...

    Started Out in the Woods

Steve and I got out for our weekend hunt about 6:30, too early to knock on doors so we hit some woods. Found a piece of an old spoon and a flat button, Steve got a nice large cent. After that we stopped at a house we hit 2 weeks ago, but no one home. On our way home stopped in to say hi to the...

    Another Good Digging Tool

This is the Ames Plantar's Pal. Cuts a super clean plug in lawns when neatness counts. I feel the Leshe tears the ground more. Has a nice cutting edge for roots and has hatch marks on the blade and handle to measure the depth of your find, up up 11 inches. Has been my go to digger for a year now...

    Nice Sunday Morning Hunt

Steve and I got back to the 1700's house at daybreak. Today the yard gave up a classic head 1810? LC, a toy machine gun and horse shoe. The other pic's are from last weeks hunt: a 1851 LC, a sleigh bell and a pin from Eagle Bicycle company based in Torrington CT which produced bicycles...

    War of 1812 Button?

Got out to the farm this weekend with Steve. Dug 11 colonial buttons including this one. I've seen buttons like this with a I for infantry in the center of the eagle, this one has a D. Found other militia buttons on this farm in the past, can't find any info on this one :thinkingabout:.

    Last Few Hunts

Since the farms are all planted Steve and I have been swinging local. Found the Barber dime at a house that was built in 1906. The no date Buffalo and 1837 hard times token were dug at a school that dates to 1950. I believe the school yard was a farm back in the day. The last pic is some of the...

Unexpected Find in the School Yard

Steve and I hit a local school yard Sunday morning that has given us silver in the past (school built in the 1950's). After digging some clad and wheats got a nice 84 VDI at 5 inches, thought for sure I had a quarter. After digging the plug was shocked to see a large cent. After cleaning with...
