    My first gold coin

Was able to get out and hunt Saturday afternoon at a park w/several old house sites I found on 1861 county map. I've found 2 scalloped Five Cent trade tokens, lots of mason jar lids and labor items from late 1800's. My friends have found silver & IH... so anyway the sun was setting when I...

    Snake loose in my house....

I'm a naturalist at a nature center and my hubby found a baby black rat snake at his work in a maintenance building. He asked if I wanted to take her to work to show the kids. I talked to co-workers and we decided to keep her since she was young and hadn't been used to a life in the wild. We...

Perhaps a blacksmith tool or for slicing & gutting animals (note the HOOK at the tip of handle). It's pretty heavy\durable- the hook is strong, pic doesn't do it justice... lol I am so...

I found this button along with several other buttons, a hair pin and a human tooth! Everything was encrusted with tiny weeny little pebble type rocks. I soaked the huge (heavy) button in olive oil for a few days and used some steel wool to reveal an Eagle button, very similiar to the one I...
