Only 1 coin, but its a big silver bucketlister!

The Etrac had a flaw in its software programing and large silver coins (silver dollars , buckles of the like) or multiple ones of them didn't have an actual designated vdi or tone and is confused the machine and defaulted these targets as undesirables with junky broken up tones and erratic ID...

Where is everyone? Too quiet here!

The one good thing about these type of forums over the popular social media platforms is there is far less drama (fakers who plant their own coins to find to promote themselves or their video subscriptions , constant arguments between people for one reason or another and yes some jealousy ) . We...

I'm starting up again in N.C.

NC is rich in history and a beautiful state , I myself visit the north western (around Jonesville) once or twice a year to spend with family , detect and arrow head hunt . I may even move down there in a couple of years permanently . I wish you the best of luck.

Cleaning Up the 1700's French Musket

Dave have you ever use media blasting (sand or soda or other) to remove the heavy rust ? i would steer clear of this method if the item was very thin or delicate iron but i've used it on gun barrels and tools and its a lot quicker , less messy and has similar results ?

First find ever - need help identifying

Clean the back as best you can and show us ( i suspect it has a solder or brazed mark where the attachment was) it could be a few things like a cufflink button , tie tack or lapel pin .
