This morning Kevin (KPMoose) and a co-worker met me at my house and off we went to the farm. This farm is where I have gotten a CT copper, IH, New Brunswick token, dandy and Brian got himself a counterfeit KG and a dandy. I was feeling confident that this spot would still produce.
Now I have...
Has anybody seen an item like this before, not the wheat but the other item. Not a button but I think that it hooked onto something???? Found this on the hunt with TrooperBri
Sitting in my recliner as the rain pours down outside I decided to take another look at my 2 good CT coppers.
On the 1st one that I found m33-34.z-11 if I am holding the coin so that the obverse is facing me, then if I flip the coin away from me then the reverse is sitting the way she should...
Decided to brave the weather today and go detecting. I went to the old farm house where Rob, Tim and myself went and got all those wheat pennies. This time I decided to go to the corn field as they were finally cutting the corn. Well not really cutting it but husking the corn leaving the stalks...
HUNT # 1
Had today off so after doing some minor chores around the house I scooted over to my nephews house that they had just bought(2 family). Small yard but I did recover 6 wheat's, earliest being 1940 and a 1950D rosie.
HUNT # 2
Last night I had gotten a text from Rob stating that his...
Had today off, sort of, and I had about an hour to hit the field again. Nothing great this time around but I did manage to get 2 cuff buttons and a 1906 IH in pretty decent shape.
Thanks for looking and stay warm cause it was cold out there today.
Went back to where Dan and I hunted yesterday. Was heading back to the farthest corn field swinging away and I get a VDI of 83. About 6" down I see a nice green disc, the obverse is toast but the reverse is okay. It's a 1787 Ct copper. Then a couple of cuff buttons in a row, then a dandy. Now...
Dan drove up to my house this AM and after showing him the two other coppers that I had gotten from the field we were going to and looking at my military display we decided to hit the road. By the way I was able to add to my copper collection and military collection so the next time Dan is up...
Got permission to do a farm field in Westfield that I had done about 5 years ago with my old Prism IV. I only have permission to do where the corn was but I'm sure that there is enough area for at least one more.
I plan on being in the field by 10am so if anybody is interested PM me.

Went back to a farm that I had visited a couple of weeks ago with Rob and Tim.
If you can remember we took 31 wheat's out of the front yard and that is where I hunted today. Managed to get 3 more wheat's - 1913 - 1921 - 1944.
Also got a nice gold gilt button, shank intact. Back mark says...
Got out this afternoon for a short 2 hour hunt. Decided to go to a spot which in the past has produced, LC's, seated, Barber, IH
First keeper would be the 1941 wheat. A little while later I got what I think might be a watch winder.
I really hate to say this BUT "on the way back to the car" I...
Got out with RobW this am and we hit two spots. The first was a total dud, only clad.
The second was a house that Rob had secured permission at. Right out of the car Rob hits a wheat, alright game on. Wheat's were coming fast and furious but alas no silver :girlcry:.
About half way thru the...
After doing my chores this morning I said why not .....batteries all charged up, feeling semi good so I hit a park.
Managed 9 wheat's, nothing spectacular and a sterling ring marked 925 and it also has FC in a box.
Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
Went back to the field where I got the MASS button. It's really peaceful there meaning there is nobody around.
Decided to run in just the Coin program and got a couple of goodies. The first one is the heel plate with the heart and the second one is a KG II. Pretty sure the date is 1756
Thanks...
Decided to hit a field that I have been to in the past. I was really just expecting some wheats, boy did I underestimate.
When I arrived there a guy was mowing the lawn and I noticed that he had made about a foot cut into the tall weeds so that was where I started. The first dig was the 1841 O...
Some of you may know this but 4 weeks ago today I had a second total hip replacement. Been bored out of my mind sitting at home recuperating. I contacted Rob about getting in some detecting and he was game, bad knee and all.
Now I still cant bend so I adjusted some of my detecting tools. I took...
Lee came up to my neck of the woods today and we struck it rich. I had obtained permission at an old house with a very tiny and I mean tiny yard.
Lee got on board 1st with a merc :happydance01:, then I got one :happydance01:, then Lee got one :happydance01: then I got one :happydance01: then...
Got out before the rain and scored a 1939 merc in the curb strips around and old school. Also managed a 1952 wheat, the other wheat's are from a previous hunt.
Hope the pictures do the merc justice.
Thanks for reading and HH
I drove out to the hill towns today and did some door knocking. 1st house a nice older gentleman answered the door, did my speech and he said he did not mind.
It was a small yard and after doing the front yard (there was no backyard) all I had was two wheat's and some clad. Something is wrong...
