02/18/14 little surprise

Got out the other night for some night hunting on a local beach. The lake is about 7 ft below normal elevation, so I have been finding some older coins in some of the old swim beaches. I decided to try a beach area that was suppose to have some old homesteads that was there before the lake was built in the early 40's. I had found a whopping 92 cents in clad and was about to call it quits for the night when I got a low tone on my 3030 and decided to dig. I had already decided it was going to be some more can slaw but to my surprise it turned out to be this 14 kt ring.

Thanks for looking

Dave

Dave that first picture is deceiving as the ring looks like it was damaged or bent  but wow :shocked02: what a nice ring :loveit:.huge congrats

Sweet find. I always tell myself just a little longer you'll find something. It definitely paid off for you great find. HH and good luck with more.

Nice ring.:clapping: Still trying to guess it's age.:thinkingabout: I'm tossed between 1940's or 1950's :dontknow: No can slaw for you today

Thanks everybody for the replies, I thought I may have found an even better ring yesterday, but it was 18kt H.G.E. It was 8 to 10 inches in the silt, where the water is normally 5 to 6 feet deep. It came out of the ground looking really good. The gems was encrusted with the silty soil, but I could see what looked like a ruby in the center and little diamonds all around it.:shocked04: Dang the my luck, it turned out to be nothing more than a heart stopper for a second.:lolsign:

Thanks and HH to all

Dave

Well it isn't solid 18 k, but it is heavy gold electroplate and looks like the read deal. Enough for the old heart to start beating fast
