15 Silver Coins

It was supposed to be a very hot one today - and it was - but I just couldn't bear the thought of not hitting a park for at least a few hours. lol Not wasting time, I gathered my gear and headed out the door to drive up to the Boston area. The park I had in mind has plenty of large trees, and they would offer some shade from the hot sun. The park is very trashy though, so I had my work cut out for me.

I had expected to stay for no more than three hours, but that idea died once the silver started to show up. lol I did well, picking up a total of 15 silver coins - a 1947 Washington quarter, eight Mercury dimes, dated 1926, 1936, 1938, 1940, 1940-D, 1941-S, 1943-D, 1944, and six Roosevelt dimes, dated 1946, 1947, 1947, 1949, 1952, and 1963-D.

There were other finds as well. I'm not yet sure about the following, though it appears to be some sort of token. I attempted to clean it up a bit but I still can't make much of the details.

This ornate pocket knife's blade has long been rusted out. The handle appears to be made of silver though. :happydance01:

This one is a very nice find too - a Boston Faneuil Hall badge.

I also dug up sixteen wheat cents and a Canadian cent, but they are in poor shape.

And here is the trash and clad coins I dug up.

Nice bunch of finds Angel :peace: That knife is gonna have a beautiful design underneath that rust. And of course I see you found a little bit of shiny stuff too lol A couple of them Mercs look to be in great shape. That token is probably a merchant's (store) token, I'm guessing  I see you are digging a lot more trash :thinkingabout: Them gold rings are hard to find aye? lol

Another sweet hunt Angel! |)
Not only is the fist full of silver coins cool but the Boston Faneuil Hall badge and mystery coin/ token are super cool too.

lol When I clicked over here to the coinshooting forum and noticed the post titled 15 Silver Coins I just shook my head in disbelief and knew instantly it was probably from you. :shocked04: lol :clapping: Who else could do that?

Awesome hunt Angel. <: The thought crossed my mind a few times today to grab my detector and go... but the humidity kept me grounded. :embarrassed:

So many great finds here, I'm not sure where to start. The silver count? The silver pocket knife? Or the Boston Faneuil Hall badge? :happydance01:
Just simply an awesome hunt. |)

A staggering bump to your silver count. :beerbuddy: Which is currently at:huh:thinkingabout: If you don't mind me asking.

Nicely done sir.

Your posts/hunts never cease to amaze me Angel, I'm sure everyone enjoys them as much as I do. |)

Gotta love that E-Trac, and it's hard to beat those old high traffic areas. Location, location, location. thumbsup01

:shocked01: wow thats an impressive day of silver Angel happydance02 :clapping: :clapping: , i'm surprised the parks aren't bone dry with all this heat and lack of rain  love the badge and hope to see a little more detail in the token to identify it some . congrats again .

Very sweet hunt, even most of your trash targets are round objects. No doubt, digs that were hopeful silvers. Congrats!

Congrats on all the silver coins! :happydance01: Would love to see that knife after it's cleaned up.

:shocked04: That knife and the badge are soooo cool!

Oh and of course all those silver coins too... lol

I agree with Angie, I'd like to see the knife cleaned up - the pic just makes ya wanna pick the chunks of rust off

Just makes a body want to get out and go swinging every day. I love it. Maybe there's hope for someone like me. I'm left handed. You think my machine can be converted over for a leftie? Fantastic finds. Thanks for showing me how it's really done. Happy hunting. I'm gone - see me later
