Got out with Todd and Dave Lowe today. we went back to the site where todd got his canadian dollar spill. after a hour or 2 of hunting around the site with a CT civil war button and a IH I decided lemme meander over to where todd dug that spill.thunder and rain cut our hunt off there last time. Not expecting much I was swinging and got a nice high tone about a foot away from his spill area near a tree.I dug down and saw the edge of a big reeded coin! rubbed a little more and saw a 2nd edge.I stood up and started flailing my arms like a windmill to todd!:cheering: Dave saw me 1st as todd had his back to me and headphones on.finally todd saw me and came over filming. What a rush to say the least as there in that hole sat another 5 canadian silver dollars.all dated 1959.went to a few other sites and dug a 1696 King William half penny and a IH.
Was a great hunt and something I will never forget!

How often can two hunting buddies make the claim that they "each" found 5 Canadian silver dollars in a hole......just our Dave and Todd. Super congrats on that find and your William and Mary.

Whoa! Big congrats! Seems that someone must have not trusted the bank or someone in their home and buried them for safe keeping??? maybe? Anyways, can't wait to watch the YouTube video on this one! Here come the youtube haters I'm sure....oh well!

The William half penny is a sweet find too!

Wow Dave. Great finds and how strange...2 Canadian silver dollar spills at the same site. Of course you have to go back at some point and search for that elusive third Canadian silver dollar spill!

Congrats Dave. I remember watching Thilty's video showing that silver spill. I think the coins even had plastic wrapping around them like they were a proof set or something. What is your theory on how (relatively) newer coins ended up at such an old site? Was someone still living there in the 50's? Maybe they were stolen and someone hid them there? Awesome finds...can't wait to see the vid.

WTG Dave on the silver cache! When you said you had your arms waving my 1st thought was you hit a yellow jacket's nest! Love the pic of the foundation out in the woods, looks very peaceful.

Wow that is fantastic an awesome Silver spill, The Ancient Copper and the nice button I'm sure that ranks with some of your most memorable hunts!
