A few weeks ago I got the go ahead to detect a house right around the corner from me. I hunted a couple weeks ago and then again today for a few hours. the first day out yielded me an engraved spoon (aluminum) and my first bell. Today, I focused on the same area of those finds and it payed off. An aluminum Atlanta Braves ring has been on my bucket list for a long time. Here's a pic:

Nah, just kidding. My real bucket list find was a Seated half. :happydance01: This year, I haven't detected as much as I would have liked, so I was so pumped to be able to find this coin today. I've only found 5 silvers this year and 2 of them are 1/2 dollars. What's the odds of that?

Here's the pics of the finds and of the house which is just beautiful, inside and out (and it is for sale if anyone is in the market)

It reads L SMITH with a pic of a lion. There may have been 1 or more letters in front of the L? It is worn in that area.

Kevin, I was trying to figure out why a nutmegger liked the Braves  I think someone told me that a lion on the spoon means it's sterling. You have a great place there. Keep it up!

One of those which say Half Dol on the back. Nice score Kev. At least that is good for you despite the lack of outings. idky but recently I realized it was twice we actually got to hunt together this summer. I thought it was only once we did. I see that you dig zinc penny signals at these places. Well, actually mine gives a slightly higher vdi (5-10 counts) than a zinc. I just have a higher resolution. Of course I am referring to the jar lid.

Yes, Drew. The Lion Passant is a British (or Ireland) sterling mark.

Anyone have any thoughts on what the letters are on the spoon. Looks like E.L.? I have a hard time reading script letters sometimes.
