Saturday I took a drive to a site I had worked back in early May. It had yielded several old silver coins and a copper then, but this time it only coughed up three Indian Head cents, one of them a fatty, and one who-knows-what copper. It doesn't count. \:hammer: The Indian Head cents are in poor shape too. They are included in the following photo, along with some of the miscellaneous finds I made today.
Today I decided to detect locally, hitting the site from where I had pulled some coppers recently. It paid off big time! :happydance01: I managed three coppers. On one of them I am still trying to make a date, but the other two are in fantastic shape for dug coppers. They are Draped Bust large cents, dated 1802 and 1803, both found in the same hole. :happydance01: I wish the four Draped Bust large cents spill I made back in mid-May had been in similar shape. But then I would have ended up in the hospital while clutching my chest. lol
Here is the colonial copper, photos of it as found and after applying some coin conditioner.
And here are my two lovely ladies. :smitten: They are really in amazing shape.
They did clean up well too. :loveit:
It was a better weekend than I had expected. :happydance01:
