1802 Draped at Park

I went to the park I've been hunting this week and found a third musket ball, 1945 wheat, and an 1802 draped that was drilled many times. Thanks for looking!

Great snag Drew! I think that's the second DB coin to be posted on the forum that looks like a salt-shaker in the making. Can't remember who posted the other one. That park is a great place this time of year as the cellar holes are nearly all overgrown.

Thanks guys....I wonder about the holes too. John, a few years ago I found one that had holes, only they were drilled all the way through. I guessed that it might have been made into a potato masher or something. :dontknow: I hope someone has a clue as to what this coin was used for.

Thanks Al...Here's my other one...I hope someone can shed some light

One thing I noticed right away is that the holes are countersunk and the holes around the edges are mushroomed out. So obviously it was fastened down to something tight enough to distort the metal. For what purpose, I couldn't imagine.

Thanks guys! I went to a different park today and in an hour found a 1942 wheat and this silver wedding band! I might become a park hunta!!!
