Last three short hunts, different sites produced the largest musket I ever dug, only my 4th bit or ring snaffle, buttons, wheats, and an 1805 Draped. The Draped was over 7in measured. 88 all directions, DeepHC 93 sens. Thanks!
Edit- cleaned up draped last few pics

It looks like you are really becoming synchronized with the D2, Drew! Congrats on the Draped Bust! And wow, that musket ball is huge! :shocked04:

:congrats:

Really nice find on that DB! Looks like a .58 Cal musket which is likely quite old. Lots of big game knockdown power, but short range. Congrats!

Thanks Tony and Chris! All I know is its the biggest musket out of the many I've found, Chris. Funny, that one and a second smaller one were 2 ft apart on the cellar lip.

Very nice finds. What is the diameter of the musket ball. In the picture it looks like a .69. This could be the French Model 1777.

Imagine getting hit by that thing? The mass of that chunk of lead even at a low muzzle velocity must have packed one heck of a wallop.

Very nice finds. I have a few .69s but a .75 is on my bucket list. I may have to make one last trip up north to have a chance to find one though.

Large caliber round ball sounds so good when you get your coil over them , congrats on the copper Drew . sounds like you progressing well with the new machine .
