1810 Large Cent

Today I spent the afternoon detecting at a local site where the soil has not yet frozen up. By this time of year the ground out here can be a block of ice, so it is a treat to be able to detect. The site yielded a couple of wheat cents and a beautiful 1810 large cent.

I also dug up a 1992 US Mint Bicentennial Medal. It's not old, but I love the design on the obverse.

These are from another day's late afternoon hunt. Finding the wartime nickel and three Indian Head cents made for a fun hunt.

That 1810 Large Cent sure is a beauty, Angel! :smitten:

Not much more cleaning required on that one, just some coin conditioner maybe. It sure came out of the ground looking nice!

Good pile of Indian Heads, wheaties, and war nickel too! I like the design on both sides of the US Mint medal, I've never seen one of those before.

Terrific finds! :clapping:

That LC is SWEEEET.. It's in remarkable condition. It had to have been lost in the 1990's lol. Never seen a bicentennial mint token like that one.
Congrats on the spectacular hunt!!!

Wow... very sweet Large Cent. :smitten: So old and in such beautiful shape.

The Mint medal is a great find. Kind of like an all-in-one coin spill. lol

Congrats on the IH's, Wheats and nickel too. But of course my favorite is definitely the 1810.

Great L.C. find. And i love that mint medal. Seems like i've seen one like it that was huge!! You got alot of great finds there. |:cheering:

Old or not that 1992 US Mint Bicentennial Medal is super cool!! thumbsup01
For a person who hunts alot of those coins as a hobby, to find them all on a single coin is just cool, funny,....and kind of ironic thumbsup01 lol
But boy o'boy that 18010 LC is a awesome find!! And in terrific shape for it's age too! thumbsup01
Time well spent if you ask me! lol
Congrats!!

That 1810 LC is stunning :wow:, the ones I dig here on Long Island don't fair well, very rarely can I get a date.
