Today I spent the afternoon detecting at a local site where the soil has not yet frozen up. By this time of year the ground out here can be a block of ice, so it is a treat to be able to detect. The site yielded a couple of wheat cents and a beautiful 1810 large cent.
I also dug up a 1992 US Mint Bicentennial Medal. It's not old, but I love the design on the obverse.
These are from another day's late afternoon hunt. Finding the wartime nickel and three Indian Head cents made for a fun hunt.
