Cool! That could have been the very bell the old schoolmarm would ring to get the kids back to class. I guess it also could have been tied around Farmer Brown's wandering ox's neck ;). Either way a great recovery.

Hunted a schoolhouse, got a bell. Go figure.:lolsign:

Is the clacker (not sure if that's what it is called) still in the bell?

Congrats on the very cool bell . I would try to rig up my own "clacker" just to hear the sound that bell made so many years ago . I remember those from Elementary School . Now , they would probably be outlawed as " noise pollution" .

I had the same problem hunting the schoolhouse site near me. Horrible hunting conditions! But finding that bell would make all worth it. Congrats on a great find! :congrats:

Wow. Better things than I found at the old school houses I tried checking here in CT. All I found were a bunch of keys and toys.

Wow, definitely a tough spot to find as well as to hunt. At least you found it & can hit it in the fall /spring.
