1870's School House Site Finally Puts Out Silver!

Ill Digger

Well the crops are all just about out of the fields around here. So that means some of my oldest sites just opened back up. thumbsup01
I've hunted this 1870's school site around 6 or 7 times since last years crops were out and the field was tilled. My first time there I found my first shield nickle on my second hole. But the place hasn't given up another single coin since. Mike Silverstar wanted to go and try this old site. I told him that I had hit it pretty hard and I have pretty much gave up on it. :dontknow: But he said he wanted to try it anyways. Since he has taken me to so many places that have produced good finds I figured If he wants to go that bad. Then that's where we're going. :dontknow:
BOY ! Am I glad he did!! :happydance01: lol I was hunting in two tone ferris when I get a real loud / strong BING BING. With the numbers jumping from aluminum to half dollar. Being fairly close to the road thats normal from the aluminum cans people throw out their cars. I dug down and sure enough  The bottom of a beer can  so I kick the dirt back in the hole and re-swept the area. This time a another strong bing with a steady 12-45  Thinking I might have cut part of the can off and left it in the hole. :dontknow: I flipped the hole back open and pin pointed something small, round, flat, and shinny!! :shocked04:

It turned out to be my second ever Seated dime!! <:

A short while later I got a nice solid 11-32/ 12-34 signal...
Digging down I see this! :shocked04:

1870s School site finally puts out silver!

Mike had a descent day too. I'll let him fill you in on his hunt. But I'm glad he still had faith in the place. lol
Thanks for lookin' & HH everyone!! :groovy:

You don't mess around with the keepers! 3 coins, 3 keepers- that's a pretty rare 100% keeper day!

You gotta love those sites that rarely give up items, but when it does, they're OLD! Good job! <:

Boy, if that's all you got you should just throw em back. rofl

I'm still waiting to get an I.H. or any cent besides wheat or memorial. crying01

Nice digs!!!!

Okay Tim, I am officially jealous of you now! Congrats on your most awesome finds. Now, I am going to go out and find me a bean field that used to have an old school. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Incredible finds, Tim! The video is terrific, how cool that you got the unveiling of all three coins! Congrats on the seated dime, that is a fantastic coin! I'd say that Mike's intuition about that site was on the money! thumbsup01

:perfect10: Totally awesome finds Tim! Congrats on those three very old coins that would make anyone's day to find just one of them. I'll bet you will be returning to that site again! ;) And we will be anxiously waiting for the next report.

Awesome finds for sure! I hope I can watch the vid tomorrow (internet is slow as molasses in the evenings).

Congrats and Goodluck on the your next hunt!
