2 Hour hunt nets a Goodie

Managed to get out today for about 2 hours. Went over to another town and I remembered that this town was making a new ball field (Rob, do you know where). It's right next to a cornfield that I had managed permission for about 3 or 4 years ago.

First find was the lock, pity it's not all there. Next came the Large Cent, I think the date is 1851, then the wheat, 1945, and last was the D buckle. Will heading back there tomorrow. Who knows, maybe a seated is waiting for me.....

Felt good to be out and swinging the detector.

Good news is that I can now add another coin to my signature.

Thanks for reading and HH

Nice lock Al. It's an old one for sure. The top piece usually rusts out on them. Nice copper too. I'd say it was a good day. For the record, I hate &quot:grin: buckles :hairpulling:, second only to ox knobs

I agree, it was reading VDI of 85 - 86 and to dig a D buckle instead of a 1/2 dollar was quite disappointing.

Any idea on the age of the lock?

That's a small lock or a large buckle lol

Congrats on the 1851 Large Cent, Al! :clapping:

That's a neat find. I have yet to find a large cent with my E-Trac. I guess I need to take a trip out east. thumbsup01
