This weather is just great. Rob and I got out for two hunts, yesterday and today. Rob made the good finds, hopefully he'll be posting. Yesterday I got $5.58 in clad and today I hit 8 wheats, dates are 1915,1916,1923,1930,1933,1934,1945 and 195:clapping:. Was really trying for that 1st silver but not to be.

Happy New Year to all

8 Wheats ain't bad! They gotta have some silver friends there somewhere! Congrats on the finds.

Somebody told me that you should expect 10 wheats for every silver. :thinkingabout: So...your next hunt :cheering:

Eight wheat cents is a nice hunt, Al! At least you were able to get out for a hunt thi time of year. I didn't get my first silver in 2011 until April 23.

Keep at it, that first silver of the year is out there!

I can't belive we are detecting in January :omg: But I sure ain't complaining...though yesterday was a bit cold :frozen: on top of that mountain. You hit A LOT of coin spills over those 2 days..mostly clad...but that wheats spill was nice :loveit:....I hear it's going to be close to 50 on Saturday |:cheering:

Nice digs Al. I like finding wheat cents, though I do have a preference for the earlier dates because I am trying to fill my album. lol I'm sure you will hit on your first 2012 silver real soon.

Angel, I can agree that the 1st silver is just a swing away. I also like the earlier wheats, not for filling an album but because I have over 17,000 wheats. Most of them are found (not by me) but by my oldtime friend and his brothers over about 30 years. He was just going to turn them into the bank so I bought them for a penny each. I am still looking for a money wheat........someday.

That was good deal. Sorting through those wheats is going to keep you busy for some time. But it is fun to do, especially when you find a key date or an early wheat with an 'S' mintmark. I still have to sort through what I have, but that won't be for a long time. :white:usaflag::

That has already happened years ago. Now they just sit, waiting for the next generation.
