3 Diggers Meet in the Middle

Ill Digger

I made plans with Daddydigger & DiggerDon to meet up in a town kinda in the middle for each of us. We've all hunted in this town in the past and have had some success. This day would prove to be more of the same! We had our first permission before 8 a.m.! Things started a little slow for me compared to Dave.
With just a couple of wheats after about a hour I found this piece of a silver ring.
No SDHOS!

After I figured out what it was in decided to check the area real good for the missing parts of it. Just a few feet away I got a zinc penny signal so I dug it and popped one of my best tokens!

It's a City Bus Line transit token "Good for One Fare"

Safe, Dependable, Courteous, Economical

That was the beginning! Next to the token I get the same signal and dig up another one of the same tokens! There ended up being three!

We hunted 6 or 7 other homes in town but none like the first.

Some of the other interesting finds

It was a beautiful day with good weather, good finds, and most of all good company!
Thanks again for thinking of me fellas!
Thanks for lookin!
GL & HH!! :peace:

Fantastic bunch of finds, Tim! I love those tokens! You got some swell old coins too, Barber Quarter and SLQ will always put a smile on your face. :thumbsup02:

And you found another ox knob too!

I'm glad you guys were able to get together for a successful hunt!

Grats on the finds, Tim-meh. I think tokens are a bit more unique than coins, so it is pretty cool to pick up a few here and there.
Lol... I should show you the varying sizes of ox knobs. I think they made them accordingly based upon the size of the beast.

I found a knob like that one and someone said it was a hame top. That would make sense as there probably wasn't a lot of oxen out there. Love all the sweet finds Tim!

Could be. :thinkingabout:

Viewing the results of a Google image search, all hame tops appear to be curved. I'm certainly not an expert on such things, however. I'm sure we had oxen here in Illinois back in the day. My mind could still be swayed either way.
