7 Silvers at the park brings me to 99 for the year!

Howdy diggers,

I thought I'd revisit an older park that I had hunted a couple times with my ACE 250. The e-trac did not disappoint! I snagged over 100 coins including 10 wheat pennies, 1 buffalo nickel, and 7 silver dimes. Two of the dimes were Barbers and they were in the same hole tied together with a piece of half-rotted string! Not sure if it was a kid's bracelet or what. The park is quite large at 14 acres and I can see myself going back many more times. There was a ton of canslaw so I pretty much ignored nickel signals. I did however, get a solid 12-13 at 5 inches which turned out to be a real nice 1937 Buffalo. Today's silver put me at 99 for the year and I tried so hard to get that 100th but then I realized I should just slow down and relax. It will come when it comes (but I hope its a half dollar!). Here's some pics. Thanks for looking. Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Congrats on the almost milestone. <: Should be able to pull a single rosie (and hopefully much more) in the next 2 months. Good luck! |:cheering:

:shocked03: Love all those Mercs. Only one more to go Digger, should be able to do that standing on your head. Congrats! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Seven silvers in one day is remarkable, Dave! That had to be really fun, seeing those silver coins in that rich black soil! Great detail on that Buffalo too! I also like the Infantry(?) badge!

By the way, I went back to Hess Park on Sunday and found another Merc, a Rosie, and some wheaties. I'm saving Garfield Park for when we can hunt it together though.

Nice digs and I hope that your 100th silver is something special! thumbsup01

Which part of the park? Up front by the school?

Oh Man Dave that is a super cool find!!  |)
A barber dime find is cool.
Two Barber dimes in one hole is even way cooler. thumbsup01
But! :shocked03: To have two Barber dimes in the same hole together!! :shocked04:....Still tied together!! :shocked04:stretcher: With the ancient rope still intact!! :omg:
That's one of the coolest finds I've seen!!
Can you tell? Are thy both 1910's Or is the other one a 191? lol
Man! They almost lost the worn out one once before! lol
I could just go on and on about that! That's cool!
Congrats!!

I tried in front of the school again and didn't find much, just a couple of wheats. There was a strip along the west edge of the tennis courts where I found several wheat cents and the Rosie. The Merc was by a tree near that back parking lot where we parked the first time. I hunted that area pretty hard but didn't find any other old coins.

Those two Barber's are beyond cool, they are worth a display case all by them selves!!! 99 silver going on a hundred is a awsome year, (I just hit 100 myself) 7 in one hunt will get you beyond 100 super fast. WTG

Awesome finds. You're really becoming an elite metal detector. We had Ace 250's at the same time, and went to E-tracs at about the same time, so it's been fun to watch your progress. 99 silvers is impressive, and I can certainly appreciate the effort it took! :perfect10:

A great hunt in our old park with new(er) equipment. You will reach 100 silvers I have no doubt. When you can pull 7 in one outing, like I said, I have no doubt. Congrats on a great hunt

:clapping: The Barbers on the string are way cool! I bet you already got to 100 today :)

Thanks for commenting! My next hunt is scheduled for Saturday morning. Another 100-year old park! I got my fingers crossed!

Really nice finds and I'm sure you will surpoass 100 on Saturday! Love those barbers on the string :happydance01: |:cheering: :perfect10:
