A 1942 D Penny and a Surprise

I hit a local park I've never hunted before. First signal turned out to a 1942 D wheatie 3 inches down. After that it was just clad coins and some junk so I decided to go into a grove of fir trees and check around there before leaving. My first signal there was choppy and all over the place but loud. I dug it anyway and down about an inch and found a beautiful but cheapish Chinese pocket knife. Couldn't have been there long.

My first signals seem to be my best.

Oh, and with her grandma's permission I gave a little girl that was watching me a penny I dug up. She thought that was pretty cool.

I've seen a lot of those pocket knives around the last few years sold as collectors items mostly since the blades are crap. Still an interesting find.

Nice knife even if made in China. I have dug a few pocket knives but never that condition, but I do know what you mean about a choppy signal.

It's definitely a display knife and not a working knife. I won't be dressing out an elk with it come November, that's for sure! :)

Cool,, that's knife number 2 or 3? Cool idea giving the penny to the young lady!!

That's the second knife. The first was a bone handled pocket knife I found at an old schoolhouse. I de-rusted it and got it working again and I actually use it.
