A couple of Barbers...

Still haven't broken into the 1800's with silver, but I have been hovering real close lately. Sooner or later I'm going to push through... hopefully this year.

The Barber quarter (1904 O) was only an inch deep and I'm very happy I didn't hit with my digger. It was the first good signal I dug this morning and figured it was a clad quarter because it was so shallow.

I pinpointed it with my Pro-pointer and stuck my digger under where I assumed it would be then popped it out. I was quite surprised when I noticed it was a Barber... and even more surprised when I didn't see a scratch. :clapping:

The 1910 Boy Scout token is interesting.

It was a nice hunt this morning and I'm hoping there is a lot more to find there.

Great hunt! I would have expected a 1 inch deep quarter to be clad too. Just goes to show you never can tell. Congrats on not scratching it. That Boyscout token is really cool. Can you get a better pic of it? I've never seen one like it. It's obviously 1930's or earlier.

Sure... these should be better.

Looks like the tokens were made by the Excelsior Shoe company. The Original Boy Scout's Shoe lol Didn't the Boy Scouts start up around 1910?

Nice all around finds. Two great Barbers (I'm glad you didn't scar her too) a real nice BSA token and a good pile of wheats. It was a good day indeed. thumbsup01

Love those Barbers! :smitten: I can just see the expression on your face on seeing that unexpected Barber quarter. lol You will no doubt break into the 1800s. thumbsup01
