A Crook's loss

Cheap Thrills

The M6 scored well in 3hrs. of dirt and wood chips yesterday . $5.59 , a 1957 Canadian Nickel and a bit of trash.
I found my second Dollar coin of the year also .The most unusual find was a quarter carefully drilled for weight distribution with a piece of yarn attached . I had no idea this was a retrievable coin designed in this way to be used to rip off vending machines until I was told by a fellow on another forum .I don't know which I like better this Crook's quarter or the two-headed quarter I got in a coin roll a few years back . :thinkingabout:

That drilled coin is different for sure, looks more like one of those twirly twine toys that you get it spinning and pull in and out on the strings to make a buzzing noise, all of the crook coins i have seen only have one hole and a piece of monofilament line attached, not that i have ever used one of them  ,you sure busted the clad on that hunt for sure, keep them coming,Dave

Good haul !! We used to put a magnet on a string to get the bottle caps
out of the machines \:hammer: you could win prizes with the right Caps ...long ago

If a machine takes in money and gives out goods you can be sure someone will try to rip it off. That crook probably made a new one right after that one was lost. >:\

Hey, gimme my quarter back...I haven't ripped off a machine in a week now lol Nice finds and good clad $$$. 2 headed coin? That is cool too :clapping:

Good hunt and finds thumbsup01 pretty unique find on the quarter with the piece of yarn tied to it, dental floss would have been the thing to use probably
