so i was thinking of going down the beach today as i was told it was gona be a realy low tide but looking out of the window i thought naaaa..... ill give a local farm house a try and im glad i did.
it started with my first signal at 4 and as i turned over the plug the sight that greeted my eyes was just wow, a seated dime with the date of 1876 !!!!! i dropped to my hornches and through me head back and giggled like a school girl , ive been wanting to find one of these for so long , and the funny thing is as i drifted off to sleep last night i was thinking of finding one and how cool it would be to get a standing liberty as well.
after placing it in me pocket i moved on picking up a few wheat pennies , then another signal at 5 and after chasing the signal around with my pointer out pops would you beleave it a standing liberty quarter !!!!! , at this point im looking around for a youve been framed camera crew but thay where nowhere to be seen , i could just pick out the number 26 under her skirt.
next find was a cool looking buckle that i hope del might be able to tell me about.
after another 10 mins i get a loud high tone at 1 that turns out to be a 1923 merc , this is getting stupid !!!!.
so ive got a pocket load of clad , a seated liberty , a standing liberty , 7 wheats and a cool buckle , so after 2 hours it starts to rain so i head back to the car swinging as i go.......beep...beep..beep , im like you gota be kidding me :huh:thinkingabout: 6 and tiny to boot.
after digging down to what seemed like china out pops another first for me a silver pendent with i think the virgin mary on it and some words about concieve for thee somthing...somthing holy... somthing silver medal in the womens bike race (my eyes are so bad.....lol) sereously though i think its one of those churchie pendent thingies another first for me.
what a day folks im on bloody cloud nine here.

Lee, your hunt was fantastic. All those firsts, you sure you weren't being filmed:huh: :congrats: on all your keepers

very sweet looking ladies Lee , you were quite the ladies man today  congrats on a couple of firsts |:cheering: |:cheering: your buckle item looks more like part of an old brass padlock face whats the reverse look like ??

Dan

dunno dan i iant cleaned it up yet , hang on....................................ok im back , your right dan its an old pad lock face....cheers mate

hey that standing liberty quarter is a first variety as there are no stars under the eagle so its either a 1916 or 1917 if it is a 1916 you have a key date one and worth a few thousand dollars Lee

hey Lee , all you need to see is the 6 . can you get a closeup picture of the 6 for us to see ??

i doudt it coz i have to schwint and use a magnifying glass but its there , even the wife can just make it out......ill try right now del .

the camera just wont pick it out del even with a mag glass and light coming from the right........sorry.
is there anything else on the coin that might distinguish it from the 17 i could take a picture of ?

if you click to enlarge on the second from last picture del you can just make it out..........i think ?
