My last 6 or 7 wood hunts have not been so great and yielded only a small amount of clad so I thought I would shake things up a bit and hunt a park today. It started out slow and ended up slow but in between I dug up a very dark coin that I thought was another clad quarter (the signal wasn't all that great) but then noticed a little bit of silver along the edge of the coin. I figure it would be a silver Washington so remembering not to rub it, I looked closer with a little bit of delicate cleaning and much to my surprise I had just found my very first Barber quarter.
Unfortunately, looking at the photographs, I noticed that I must have dinged it with the digger :hairpulling: . Remembering not to rub the coin is good if you don't gouge it with the digger
. In any case, I'm still excited to have found it.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting.
