A Rare Vermont Winter Hunt

Today it was 50 degrees here in Vermont and I just had to get the f75 out and have some fun...heres what I found..including my first ever buckle with it's clasp intact.Theres a buckle and a u shaped item I'm not quite sure of what they are. thanks

the buckle is a colonial knee or breeches buckle and the iron item is an iron heel plate . they would put these on the bottoms of their boot heels so it wouldn't wear so fast. very nice finds.

if you look at the knee buckle,on the right of it,there is still cloth or string attached..lasted all that time..amazing
 
What a sharp looking buckle. Detecting in VT in January, now thats something you will remember. :congrats: on some nice finds
