A silver surprise

Hi folks. The wife gave me a few hours tonight to detect. After taking care of the horses and dogs, I went to a local school nearby. I've never found much at this school, but clad and a few wheaties. Tonight I managed a 44 wheatie, a clad dime and a flat button whith the shank attached. On the way back to the truck, I got a nice 84 vdi on the V, so I figured another quarter. It was. I dug, flipped the plug and saw silver. An 1876 seated quarter. The back is pretty well worn off, and the front is in nice shape. Blew me away as this was a new school. Ya just never know. Dave.......sorry no pictures as my camera is broke. ( bless the grandkids who played with it )

Wow! That's amazing! 1876 seems to be a common year for the seated quarter, everyone's finding them except me. lol

Congrats on the incredible find! That's the exciting part about this hobby, you just never know what's going to be down there in the hole!

:clapping: Way to go! I've only found a seated dime so far... Yep, you never know- someone found a gold coin at a fairly new school here!

That's a good find! May have been resting there all along depending on what has been there over the last 150 years. Congrats!

That's the only Seated I can't find lol Just can't seem to get that quarter 8/ Congrats on a real surprise of a find :clapping: Sometimes they bring in dirt to level the school yard, and you may have got the prize in it. Or just some kid with show and tell (and lose) lol Nice going!!
