Got out this morning for a few hours before some chores I needed to do and went to 2 parks. The 1st one within 20 minutes of just 2 dug clad coins-- I got a penny signal and dug this ring from the woodchips.
It got my adrenaline going for awhile. I put it in my pocket so I could look at it closer when I got back home.

It turned out to be a 14K GE ( gold electroplate) ring.

I also dug the souvinier penny from the grass area. Mel didn't have to go to Galveston to get something from there...... ;) I dug the penny in a Houston park----55 miles from the beach....

Nice little ring Robbie thumbsup01 thumbsup01 That would have made my heart skip a beat or two :loveit:

Nice recovery on the ring Robbie, that penny VDI on the ring tells me it has a copper base, just a thought...came out of the chips with stone intact, thats sweet...

Too bad it wasn't the real thing, but still exciting! That happened with a gold bracelet I found, it looked so solid and heavy. I cried when I realized it wasn't :crying02:

Digging that ring up, I would have thought it was real. :shocked04: Great looking one anyways. It will look nice in the display!!

Howdy Robbie!
Considering my day yesterday, we should have done some hunting together.
I had a pretty darn good one yesterday. But then again, I am hobbled up to where tot lots is about all I can manage right now.

Still, that's a darn nice little ring.

Plus, I enjoyed seeing your silver ring collection too.

Pipster said thanks for the dime. And how fitting, considering you're the Dimeman!
A big thank you from me goes along with that. Nice meeting you. Just wish we'd
gone hunting.

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

If I knew you would be stopping at that park next to the demo site, on your slow way back north, I would have met you there. I dug a thick copper chain bracelet from that totlot about 1 1/2 years ago.

It was great to meet you and hear some of your detecting stories,( they are better in person than they are reading them on the forum   ) and I'm glad you got some nice finds while you were in the vicinity.
If you ever get down this way again it would be great to see how the gold master does it.

Nice ring!
