Any help on this &quot:daydream: Mary pendant, age? Silver?

Still very new at this and I went to a local county park today with lots of land. Didn't come home with too much more then a 12 pack of pull tabs, enough nails to roof my house, one Wheaty and this pendant. I found it about 2-3 inches down and it looks like silver but not sure. It did come out of the ground looking just like that. Anyone have an age on these or know if it could be silver? Still trying to locate my loop for a closer look.

One month of detecting and this is the best I got so far.

Thanks for any help[attachimg=1]

It's a miraculous medal... google it for lots of info. I don't think they are too old generally. They are usually stamped if they are silver. Nice find!

It looks like it could be silver but it's hard to tell from the photo. If it is silver it should be marked sterling or .925 on the back.

Nice find, They can be silver, or silver plated brass, or aluminum. Usually they are marked on the reverse side if they are silver. The 1830 is not the date of the medallion, but a reference to a religious happening.

You can swing by a jeweler and they can test it, or you can buy an acid kit and find out at home. Most times you can just compare the color to some other silver you have.
