Back To The Eagle Field

Today Doug and I got an early start and hit the Eagle field to see if we could get some keepers from it. We had a great day, Doug got an 1883 Indian that is in super condition, and some relics. I started out with a few relics, pocket watch pieces, I have dug at least a dozen pieces from different pocket watches in this field. I was getting a 12-45 on the CTX but I suspected there was iron in the hole too. I was right as I first dug a very large nail, then my pinpointer told me that something else was there...and it was a goodie for sure. The most crisp looking Seated Dime I have ever seen dug. Please understand I am not bragging but it is just awesome! Just before we decided to take a break for lunch I dug a sweet looking 1865 Indian. We had been hunting for 5 hours and surely needed the break. While we were eating we had talked to about going to the corn field on the corner since it looked like they turned the dirt but Doug said No let's go back to the Eagle field it will give up something else. We had not been back more than 5 minutes when I got a 12-14 signal that was quite solid, I was hoping for an old nickle but what I got was even better....a large gold ring! It has a moose head on it. We finally were tired and called it a day but hope to get back there Monday.

That was one heck of a hunt. The early Indian alone would have made a great hunt, but to add a gorgeous seated dime and a huge gold ring, makes that an unreal hunt |) :clapping: :clapping: That has got to be one of you best hunts ever.

I'll second that :perfect10: :perfect10:

Great hunting. What a beautiful seated dime and a nice early one. The IH is a beaut also, now top it all off with a gold ring...... :omg:

Doug had a gut feeling and it paid off.

That is what I figure too, looked on line saw some similar ones but not that exact one. Don't know for sure how old it is, but it has wear on it some of the edges are smoothed out a bit. Just looks old...know what I mean?

I have to take it to be tested since it is not marked, I forgot to weigh it! Will dig out my scale to do that.

Three banner finds in one hunt, Tony! |)

The detail on that seated dime is incredible! Wow, what a find! It must have been brand new when it was dropped 168 years ago!

That gold ring is also a mind-blowing find! :wow: Having actually held it in my hand, I know it has some heft to it! I bet it's old too.

Thanks again for letting DaddyDigger and I hunt that field with you on Monday. That was very kind of you. I really had a lot of fun.

I haven't watched your video yet but I will when I get home.

Congrats again on the jaw-dropping finds! :perfect10:
