Best day so far and first real pocket spill for me.

I went out with my sister...donna today for a couple of hours at a previous place I hunted when the ground was still frozen. Started off with a 1953 rosie and a couple of clad coins. This place had a lot of fill put in years ago since the clad was 6-7 inches down. I was working my way along the sidewalk and hit a iffy but repeatable signal. I started digging thinking it may be a water shut off valve or pipe. I dug 12 inches and finally came to my first coin spill. I called donna over and she watched as I pulled the first barber quarter, then another, then the v nickel. The barber half was out of the hole already in the last clump of dirt I took out, but they were stacked up on one another in the hole, the silvers kinda green from the nickel. We worked the place for a while longer and I ended up with a 1924 merc and 5 wheaties that ranged from 1917-1945, found some other finds along the way. I think after finding the coin spill I was shocked out for the day. Donna ended up with a couple keepers also and we called it a day, but going to return to it in the near future.

Thanks for looking.

wow :shocked03: incredible silver spill :perfect10: huge congrats :clapping: :clapping:

No doubt about it, that's a REAL pocket spill! :wow:

That's one of the best pocket spills I've ever seen! Incredible! |)

That was a lot of money back in the day. That 1912 Barber Half doesn't have much wear, and it's the newest coin of the bunch. I would bet that spill happened not long after 1912.

Huge congrats, Don! That is an awesome find! :perfect10:

Holy cow! That would be the find of a lifetime for me! I can't even imagine. A barber quarter is just about my most hoped for coin at this point, and you got two in one hole. Plus a half! :shocked03: Amazing! Congrats on a heck of a hunt!

:wow: :wow: :perfect10: :perfect10: :perfect10: I just don't know what to say except :wow: :congrats:

That was Awesome just being there and seeing you pull those coins from that hole! Those are some sweet looking coins... :cheering: Congrats on that coin spill :perfect10: :perfect10: :perfect10:

Great pocket spill, that Barber 1/2 looks great. :congrats: on all the keepers and hope that you get back there soon.

Thank you all for the replies. It was a day I will remenber as my first coin spill, I think i was a little shocked, since i didn't even do the happy dance untill about 15 minutes after i found it. The area is really trashy and lotsa fill, we will hunt it again as soon as weather permits, but i have a feeling machinery will come in and soon bury anything that may still be detectable. Still looking for the elusive Indian head...... Maybe the next trip out. Thanks and HH thumbsup01.

:perfect10: :omg: :wow: What a super spill you ran into! :congrats: I think I would have been shocked out too. A very nice bunch of finds that went along with the Big Silver! WTG!! Bring Donna along next time too!

i'm with Tony...thats the most awesomest baddest fantasticated coin spill ever! :shocked03: BIG congrats!! i would faint and fall over if i found something like that! :perfect10: :perfect10:
