Buttons, buckle, Indians and silver

Hit a couple of new spots and one small area I had worked hard last year. Found an 1891 Canadian dime and when I was packing up my car I realized I had dropped my digger. As it was dark at this point I figured I'd go back the next day to find my digger and I did, and it had 2 Indians watching over it from nearby. Went to a couple of other sites I found on an 1867 map and came up with a few flat buttons and other stuff. Nothing to do a dance about, but enough to say it wasn't a waste of time.

wow Don looks like a shoe buckle frame in the top picture , sweet:clapping:the thing in the middle on the bottom almost looks like a metal epaulette (shoulder scale) from a military uniform , have any better pictures of it ??
 
Nice looking finds Don.:thumbsup01: Canadian silver is a treat too. I hope you thanked them Indians for standing guard over your digger :lol:
 
Coinnut, I did thank the Indians. I also asked them if they had friends around who wanted to join them at my house. Two of the Indians and Canadian silver came out of a 1 acre spot of woods I found last year. I worked it hard last year and came up with a seated half, 2 seated quarters, Barber quarter, 3 large cents, a small tribe of Indians, a half real and a few other assorted odds and ends.

What are the dates of the Indian Head Cents? Us coin people are interested in such things. :thumbsup01:

I am jealous of you guys that live where you can find those cool old Canadian coins. I have found a handful of Canadian cents and a nickel from the 1920s, but never any silver and certainly nothing from the 1800s. I love that old dime!

Nice finds Don. I'm hoping to find some of those old Canadian coins this summer as well. They're so darn ubiquitous in modern loose change up here in VT, I have to assume that it was similar years ago.

Nice when you can find a spot that gets back to the seated timeframe. Lots of old spots here can hit Barber, but repeated Seated is much harder. I've only found one Seated half and one seated quarter myself. Quite a few dimes and half dimes but never in one general area. Great finds.
 
The IH's were 1889, 1903 and 1909 without the S : ( We don't find much Canadian around here as we're probably 300 miles from Canada, but every once in a while one turns up. I found a very nice 1903 Canadian Half Dime a long time ago in the Bronx.
