Cleaning wheats with glass beads.

Hi all.
Just got through tumbling a few wheats with glass beads. These are a blasting medium I use in cleaning and removing paint from old toy trains. They are 325 grit. Has the consistancy of baby powder. I put it, along with the wheats in my rock tumbler and let it run fo 24 hrs. The pennies were really rough. I think it done a pretty good job with no apparent damage. Just thought I would share.
PS I would still be hesitant to use this method on silver or any really valuble coin. But for normal everyday wheats, its pretty easy.

they do look real good, nice job, I use steel shot in my tumbler, does a good job too but in less time.

Both sound like good ideas, but I would have thought that steel shot would be a little rough on the coin. But I know that I've tried the chemical routes and they don't work worth a darn on pennies. I will give both a try, and thanks for the advise. |:cheering:
